Cosmetic surgery of the nose is an individualized procedure which takes into account all the specific characteristics that contribute to the overall appearance of the nose and its relationship to other facial features. Doctor Shektman will carefully evaluate your individual case and goals for improvement to determine specific features to address through rhinoplasty. A treatment plan will then be established and may include:

●Alteration of the nasal bridge
●Reshaping of the nasal bridge
●Reducing the length of the nose
●Reshaping the nasal tip
●Reshaping the nostrils
●Adjusting the angle between the nose and upper lip

Preparing for surgery

The rhinoplasty surgery you are to undergo will be carefully explained to you. You will be given specific instructions that will include:

●pre-surgical considerations, diagnostic testing and medications

●day of surgery instructions and medications

●information on anesthesia

●post-operative care and follow-up

What to expect

Your rhinoplasty procedure may be performed in our accredited office-based surgical facility or in a hospital, depending on your wishes and any health issues you may have.

In the office setting, intravenous sedation will be used; while in the hospital, general anesthesia is more likely.

Local anesthesia to the rhinoplasty area is always administered.

Following surgery

Once rhinoplasty is completed, a splint will be applied to the nose.

Your nose will be lightly packed with a medicated packing strip. You will remove the packing from the nose the next day.

Instructions on how to manage the splint and packing will be given to you during consultation and when you book your surgery.
