Your
tummy tuck will be individualized to your specific needs which may include:
●Excess localized fat in the abdominal area
●Loose and sagging skin in the abdominal region
●Weakened or separated abdominal muscles due to pregnancy, weight loss or ageing
One or all of these conditions may be present and can be surgically improved with a
tummy tuck.
The
tummy tuck surgery you are to undergo will be carefully explained to you. You will be given specific instructions that will include:
●pre-surgical considerations, diagnostic testing and medications
●day of surgery instructions and medications
●information on anesthesia
●post-operative care, as well as
drain care and follow-up
Your
tummy tuck procedure may be performed in our accredited office-based surgical facility or in a hospital, depending on your wishes and any health issues you may have.
In the office setting, intravenous sedation will be used; while in the hospital, general anesthesia is more likely.
Local anesthesia to the
tummy tuck area is always administered.
Once
tummy tuck is completed, a compression
garment will be applied to the treated areas.
These assist to control swelling and compress the skin to your new body contour.
Drains will be placed during your tummy tuck and you will be given
instructions on handling them.
Instructions on how to manage the garments will be given to you during consultation and when you book your surgery.
